Friends’ Bookstores Locations

Whether you’re shopping in-person or online, the Friends’ bookstores are a great place to find gently used books and other items at bargain prices.

Shopping at the Friends’ bookstores is a win-win: You’re saving money and you’re also helping the Friends support Oceanside Public Library as a source of education, entertainment, and enrichment for our community. At the Friends’ bookstores you’ll find fiction, nonfiction, memoir, biography, history, science fiction, travel, art, gift books and children’s books along with DVDs, CDs, and puzzles.  And we’re always adding new inventory thanks to the generous donors in our community (read more about donating below).

Your Donations Are Welcome!

The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library welcome your donations of gently used books, as well as DVDs and CDs (opened and unopened), magazines and puzzles.

Some donated items become part of the Library’s collection, while others are sold at Jane and Evie’s Used Books; at the Friends’ bookstores at the Civic Center and Mission Branch Library; at the Friends’ Amazon bookstore; and at Oceanside’s Thursday Farmers Market. These sales are a crucial source of support for the Library’s special events, programs for all ages and the purchase of new books and other materials.

Where to Donate…

Smaller donations of a few books, a bag or two, can be taken to the Mission Branch Library circulation desk or to the Civic Center Library’s Circulation desk in the Atrium.

Larger donations of up to 7 boxes or bags can be taken to the Civic Center Library loading dock on Civic Center Drive; Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors can park in the loading dock area and ring the doorbell for assistance.

Please note, donations exceeding eight boxes or bags are by appointment only. Please ask a Library staff member for information or call 760-435-5560.
